The workshops primary aim is to produce a hot meal every lunchtime to our 180 service users and 27 staff members each week, with a rotating menu for a different meal option each day.

Our clients are involved in the preparation of the food as raw ingredients, the cooking of food, the serving of food and the cleaning of the kitchen environment and dinning room area.

in addition to this, the clients are active in the taking of lunch orders and using the till, all under the guidance and support of Technical Instructors.

Within the workshop, we offer clients basic catering skills, health and safety with regard to food standards and a foundation certificate in food hygiene - which is issued by the institute of environmental health and is recognised across the UK.

Our clients experience working in an increased pressure environment and learn the value and importance of team work, all of which increases confidence in their own capabilities.

Along side the catering workshop, we have incorporated 'The Coffee Shop' which is open to the public and allows our clients to be responsible for the management of the area, dealing with the public, taking orders and handling money.

We also provide buffets to accompany the room letting service Workbridge offers for business meetings as well as providing buffets for outside venues.

This gives our service users valuable experience in a more independent working environment, with the long term view of re-entry into mainstream work placements equipped with confidence, knowledge, experience and a qualification.
